Snow Shoeing

Ages 18+ Looking for something new, sick of being inside, or already a Snowshoer wanting to have some company then please join us for Intro to Snow Shoeing. Snowshoeing is a type of hiking that involves walking over snow with the assistance of footwear that displaces weight over a larger area. With origins roughly 4,000 to 6,000 years ago.  In this 4 week class we will hike 4 different trails, learn trail etiquette, basic snow shoeing techniques uphill/downhill, and enjoy this winter outdoors.    

Intro to Snowshoeing

Dates: Fridays: 1/22-2/12 Make up if needed due to weather 2/19 & 2/26
Time: 10am-12pm

What you will need to bring with you to class.
Snowshoes 

Water proof Winter Snow Boots
Poles
Lots of small layers you can take off as you warm up
Water bottle 

Clean Mask when social distancing isn't possible.
Looking to borrow snow shoes for this class call the recreation department
924-8080 we can check and see if we have a pair that fits you. 


Questions will be ask upon arrival. 
Covid-19 Screening questions:
i. Do you have any of the following symptoms of COVID-19:

1. Fever (a documented temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher) or
are feeling feverish;
2. Respiratory symptoms such as a runny nose, nasal congestion, sore throat,
cough, or shortness of breath;
3. General body symptoms such as muscle aches, chills, and severe fatigue;
4. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; or
5. Changes in your sense of taste or smell?
ii. Have you been in close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed
to have had COVID-19 in the past 10 days? (Note: healthcare workers caring for
COVID-19 patients while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment are
not considered to have a close contact exposure and should answer “No” to this
question).
iii. Have you traveled on non-essential travel in the past 10 days outside of New
Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island (this
includes any international travel or travel by cruise ship and any domestic travel,
within the US, outside of NH, VT, RI, CT, MA or ME, regardless of the mode of
transportation)?
