MASK UPDATE issued 11-20-2020So, what is this funny named sport?  Outside of being the fastest growing sport in America, this game is described as a combination of tennis, badminton and ping pong.  The game is played on a badminton size court, utilizing a net like the one used in tennis, and the paddles are fashioned after ping pong paddles.  The ball?  It is a wiffle type ball.  Most of our players are over 50 years old, but younger folks are welcome.  Come check it out!!Due to the popularity of the sport and limited indoor space - we are allocating certain times for certain styles of play.  "Open" play is for all abilities.  Recreational play is just that.  Competitive players can play during this time - just realize the nature of play will be more relaxed.  Competitive play is just that also.  Recreational players are welcome to play, realize though that the style of play will be ramped up.Pre-registration for Pickleball begins Monday October 19th, 2020.Due to Covid-19 we will have to make some changes as to how indoor Pickleball is run. Times slots are a little different from years past due to cleaning schedule and possible snow removal if needed. Pickleball time slots will have a limited amount of participants  (10 participants for each time slot). Participants will have to pre-register online or by calling the recreation department at 924-8080 and payment would be made at the door please bring exact cash so cash doesn't need to be handled. We are very excited to be offering a program to our Pickleballers but PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES SO WE CAN CONTINUE PROGRAMS AT THE PCC. We are excited to offer this program and have the PCC open on a limited bases but with Covid things can change quickly.  Covid-19 Policies and Procedures: These guidelines were created using New Hampshire’s Safer at Home Reopening Guidance. Participants will be screened by staff or key holders using Covid-19 screening questions. If there answer to any of the questions is yes please stay home and do not enter the building. If answer yes to any of these questions you will be turned away.  Covid-19 Screening questions:1. Do you have any symptoms of Covid 19? (Fever, runny nose, nasal congestions, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, muscles aches, chills, severe fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or changes in your taste or smell?2. Have you been in close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have had Covid-19 in the past 14 days?3. Have you traveled in the past 14 days outside of NH, VT, MA, CT, RI or ME on public transportation, internationally or by cruise ship? Masks must be worn at all times while in the building with the exception of when participants are on the court playing. (Mandatory Mask Time Slots Mask will always be worn including play time) Anyone waiting to get in the game and or on the sideline must be masked during all time slots. All participants waiting to get in the game need to remain on the sidelines, masked, and social distance from one another during all time slots. Hand sanitizer should be used upon entering the building. The gym will have one way exit and entry. Please enter the gym through the main Peterborough Community Center Gym entrance and when leaving the building please use the door in the back of the gym. It will be labeled. Please bring exact change for payment. $3pp per session. Drop money in box no one should be exchanging money. Participants must bring their own equipment. Equipment should be cleaned before being brought into the building and disinfected after being used. Nets will be set up by Coordinators & Staff. Do not arrive and enter the building more than 5 minutes before your allotted time. Participants must exit the gym as soon as their allotted time is over. Beginning Wed. Sept. 9th:If you enjoy good fun, great laughs and playing bingo - come and join the Senior Program  outdoors (weather permitting) at the PCC on Elm Street each Wednesday morning beginning September 9th, starting at 10am.   This program runs until 11:30am. The cost is $2 per person per session and small prizes will be given out.Ages: 50+Where:  Outdoors at the PCCWhen: Starting Sept. 9th: Wednesdays from 10-11:30amFee: $2You will need to bring your own lawn chair.A cardboard tray, 2 disposable bingo cards, and makers will be provided.Social distancing is mandatory & masks are strongly suggested.You will be able to pick and choose a prize, though no handling. Face Covering will be worn when social distancing isn't possibleParticipants should bring their Own Water Bottle The following Screening Questions will be asked upon arrival. 1: Have you had any symptoms of Covid-19 including runny nose, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, any aches or chill any changes in your scents of taste or smell in the last 14 days.2. We will be watching a virtual trip to a museum each week on the Big TV. MASK UPDATE issued 11-20-2020So, what is this funny named sport?  Outside of being the fastest growing sport in America, this game is described as a combination of tennis, badminton and ping pong.  The game is played on a badminton size court, utilizing a net like the one used in tennis, and the paddles are fashioned after ping pong paddles.  The ball?  It is a wiffle type ball.  Most of our players are over 50 years old, but younger folks are welcome.  Come check it out!!Due to the popularity of the sport and limited indoor space - we are allocating certain times for certain styles of play.  "Open" play is for all abilities.  Recreational play is just that.  Competitive players can play during this time - just realize the nature of play will be more relaxed.  Competitive play is just that also.  Recreational players are welcome to play, realize though that the style of play will be ramped up.Pre-registration for Pickleball begins Monday October 19th, 2020.Due to Covid-19 we will have to make some changes as to how indoor Pickleball is run. Sept. 9th:If you enjoy good fun, great laughs and playing bingo - come and join the Senior Program  outdoors (weather permitting) at the PCC on Elm Street each Wednesday morning beginning September 9th, starting at 10am.   This program runs until 11:30am. Sept. 9th:If you enjoy good fun, great laughs and playing bingo - come and join the Senior Program  outdoors (weather permitting) at the PCC on Elm Street each Wednesday morning beginning September 9th, starting at 10am.   This program runs until 11:30am. MASK UPDATE issued 11-20-2020So, what is this funny named sport?  Outside of being the fastest growing sport in America, this game is described as a combination of tennis, badminton and ping pong.  The game is played on a badminton size court, utilizing a net like the one used in tennis, and the paddles are fashioned after ping pong paddles.  The ball?  It is a wiffle type ball.  Most of our players are over 50 years old, but younger folks are welcome.  Come check it out!!Due to the popularity of the sport and limited indoor space - we are allocating certain times for certain styles of play.  "Open" play is for all abilities.  Recreational play is just that.  Competitive players can play during this time - just realize the nature of play will be more relaxed.  Competitive play is just that also.  Recreational players are welcome to play, realize though that the style of play will be ramped up.Pre-registration for Pickleball begins Monday October 19th, 2020.Due to Covid-19 we will have to make some changes as to how indoor Pickleball is run. Beginning Wed. Sept. 9th:If you enjoy good fun, great laughs and playing bingo - come and join the Senior Program  outdoors (weather permitting) at the PCC on Elm Street each Wednesday morning beginning September 9th, starting at 10am.   This program runs until 11:30am. Enjoy viewing the 2020 modified version of Holiday Trees in Peterborough: six themed trees on display throughout December on the front lawn of the Peterborough Community Center, 25 Elm Street.A small number of past contributors to Holiday Trees in Peterborough will be setting up our trees outside, to spread some COVID-safe holiday cheer and serve as a colorful stop on the Southern NH Tour of Lights.  A map of all the participating light displays in the Tour of Lights will be posted on Dec. 9th here.Trees will be on display from Dec. 4th until shortly after Christmas.Many thanks to our 2020 tree donors!  Details about each tree will be posted here once they have been set up.  Please check back!We hope to see you again next December- inside the Community Center- for the 2021 Holiday Trees in Peterborough!
