Peterborough Recreation Ride & Ski Program

This is one of our most fun programs we do! For this program, recreation staff pick up kids from PES and SMS and bring them to Crotched Mountain for a fun night of skiing, snowboarding, and socializing. Younger participants take a lesson, have dinner, then ski with their friends, and older participants typically ski all afternoon, have dinner, then ski until it is time to go home. Chaperones who can ski and snowboard are deeply appreciated and required for this program to run.
This year we are offering a new transportation option where you can pay less for transportation if you want to pick your child up at the mountain every week rather than from PES at 7:45. This will save you money and allow us to bring more kids into the program!
This program is for 1st - 8th graders and has very limited spots.
Steps to Register for This Program:
Step 1: Sign up and pay for the PRD program on this website. Our cost covers transportation, chaperones, and fees.
Step 2: Sign up and pay for the Voyager Program on the Crotched Mountain website, found here. Elementary participants must purchase 4pm lessons. Lessons are not required for middle school participants unless the participant is learning to ski/snowboard. (If you have a middle schooler and are only looking for transportation to and from Crotched, pay the registration fee for our program below, only.)
Step 3: Forward your confirmation email to jchidester@peterboroughnh.gov.
Your child is not part of our program until you complete all three steps.
Price for PRD Program:
$60/resident/one-way ride
$90/resident/two-way ride
$65/non-resident/one-way ride
$95/non-resident/two-way ride
When: WEDNESDAYS, January 7, 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18, 25*
*bad weather makeup day; please note this is DURING school vacation week.
Time: Leave SMS at 2:00pm
Leave PES at 2:45pm, ski lesson at 4pm
Return to PES at 7:30pm
Where: We leave from each respective school and return to Peterborough Elementary School
Additional IMPORTANT Information:
- Be sure to have your child dismissed from PES at 2:45 or SMS @ 2pm via PickUp Patrol.
- This program is non-refundable unless we cancel the program or the spot can be filled.
Parents/Chaperones: Please commit to chaperoning only if you can commit to all 6 weeks of the program and if you can ski or snowboard. We will provide lift passes and cover the fees for rentals for chaperones who do not already have them.
Chaperones must be background checked by the Town of Peterborough before they can attend the program. No other forms of background checks will be allowed.
