Softball is back!
This year we are joining the Souhegan Valley Girls Softball League which consists of teams from Bedford, Goffstown, New Boston, Wilton, New Ipswich, Merrimack, Hollis-Brookline, Milford, and Amherst. We are offering 8U, 10U, and 12U. There will be 10 regular season games and playoffs.
Who: Age group is determined by your daughter’s age as of December 31st, 2024. If your daughter is 5 or 6 years old, please register her for ConVal Cal Ripken T-ball.
When: Indoor practices will begin in March at the Peterborough Community Center (for 10U and 12U only) and outdoor play will begin as soon as the fields at 64 Union Street are dried out and ready. We will come out with specific schedules as the spring unfolds, but the season will be roughly April 28th-June 6th. Playoffs begin in early June and complete by mid-June.
Where: Practices will be in Peterborough, but games will be in Peterborough and the towns listed above.
Cost: $70.00/residents, $90/non-residents*
*non-residents may participate who do not have a softball program in their town
Additional Information:
- Please provide your daughter with a glove, sneakers or cleats, a mouth guard (or a fielding face mask), gray softball pants, and tall black socks. If you cannot provide these items, please reach out to the Recreation Department!
- We need head coaches! As a head coach, your certification courses, background checks, and one child's registration will be covered by the Town of Peterborough. You must complete your background checks before you can work with children. Please indicate on your registration if you would like to coach your child's team.
- If you would like to be an assistant coach, we will cover your background checks and certification but not your child's registration.
- If you know of anyone who can be an umpire, please notify the Program Coordinator at jchidester@peterboroughnh.gov.
