Swimming Lessons, Tiny Tots

We will be offering in-house swimming lessons without an affiliation to a national organization. Several of our swimming lesson staff have years of experience. These classes are structured like the popular classes we offered last year but in the mornings.

Each session will last a week, Monday through Friday, without the usual thunderstorm make up day. These lessons will be held at Adams Pool. We cap this class at 12/class.

Tiny Tots does not have an age requirement, it can be for wee little ones or older who still have separation anxiety and would be better off with additional support in the water. The only pre-requisite is that the child is able to hold their head up above the water. A caretaker needs to go into the water with the child for each lesson.

Purpose: This class is primarily offered to introduce the child to the water, to become a little more comfortable with the water through games and activities in the water. The class will include instruction on supports, holding, and guiding techniques to aid in increasing child’s comfort that the caregiver can use outside of the class.

Session 1 - June 22-26
Session 2 - June 29- July 3
Session 3 - July 6 - 10
Session 4 - July 13-17
Session 5 - July 20 - 24
Session 6 - July 27 - July 31
Session 7 - August 3-7
Session 8 - August 10-14

Cost: $24/session/resident of Peterborough
$31/session/non-resident

Time: 11:45am to 12:15am

Payment required before attending. Rosters will be printed Friday at noon prior to each session. If you register after noon on Friday please print a receipt or have the receipt on your phone to show the instructor.

Progressive order of swimming levels

Tiny Tots (An adult needs to accompany the child)
Pre-Swimmers (for those wee ones who don't need a parent/guardian in the water but need to get more comfortable with water)
Learning Basics (two groups, older and younger age groups)
Building Skills (one level group)
Advanced Swimmer (skill development)
