Swimming Lessons 2026- Building Skills
Swimming Lessons, Building Skills
Coordinators: PRD Staff
We will be offering in-house swimming lessons without an affiliation to a national organization. Several of our swimming lesson staff have years of experience. These classes are structured like the popular classes we offered last year.
Each session will last a week, Monday through Friday without the usual thunderstorm make-up day. These lessons will be held at Adams Pool.
Building Skills is for any age. Some prerequisites are: ability to put one's face in the water, float 7 to 10 seconds, move above and below the water. The lesson will be taught in the middle section of the pool, an area where a life jacket can not be worn. We request that the participant be at least three feet tall or be able to hold onto the side of the pool independently. If not, consider enrolling your child in Learning Basics as many of these kids will have access to life jackets.
Purpose: This class is primarily offered to build swimming skills, learning to swim on one's front and back, work on breathing patterns. Some water safety will be taught at every level. The participant is in the lesson without a care giver. The maximum number of participants is 6/class.
