Let's go tubing during February vacation! Spend the day with us playing games at the community center and snow tubing! We will begin the day at the Peterborough Community Center, then head to Pats Peak in the recreation vans for a tubing adventure. We will have lunch in the Pats Peak lodge and then go tubing from 1-3pm. After that, we will head back to the community center. The program will be supervised and led by recreation staff and possibly a parent chaperone or two.Details: Where: Pats Peak, HennikerWhen: Thursday, February 27thTime: 9am-5pmAge: 1st-5th graders Cost: $55/resident, $65/non-residentAdditional Information: - Provide your child with a minimum of 2 snacks and a water bottle- You may either pack your child with a lunch or give them money to purchase lunch at the lodge. Lunch is not included in the price of the program.- The waiver below must be completed before we depart in order for your child to attend the trip. Tai Chi and Qigong are here! About This Program This class covers qigong/tai chi fundamentals of breath work, movement, posture alignment, and visualization. Consistently practicing these gentle, meditative movements improves balance, coordination, flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. Safe and sustainable for everyone, all movements can be modified and effectively compliment other wellness pursuits.Who is Theresa?Theresa Rogers is a Zen Wellness certified Qigong instructor and currently trains with Alex Dong's International Taijiquan Association of Tai Chi. Theresa is an advanced student of Senior Instructor Janet Briggs of East Wind Tai Chi in the practice of Yang Style Long form,  Dong family Simplified, Advanced, Fast, and Sword forms and Kai-He/Hao form. In 1987, Instructor Theresa received a BA from College of Atlantic in Human Ecology, the study of the connections between humans and their natural and physical environments. From 2001-2010, she was a regional champion and a national contender with USA Powerlifting, a drug-free strength sport federation. With life-long interests in human ecology and physical fitness, Theresa says: "In 2014, I was fortunate to begin studying Qigong and Tai Chi with Master James Rath of the Taoist Arts Center in Nashua. The profound physical and mental benefits I experienced fostered centeredness in all areas of my life." After achieving instructor certifications, Theresa taught the restorative Qigong curriculum at the Toaist Arts Center until its closing. In 2018 Theresa founded 7 Stars Qigong. There is a 30% refund fee for all refunds canceled by the participant.  Fees cannot be prorated and we are unable to refund credit card convenience fees. Let's take a trip to MFA!  The Boston Museum of Fine Art has some amazing displays of art from of all forms.  Participants will depart from Peterborough and drive down in the Recreation Vans.  Eat at one of the cafe's in the museum or venture away from MFA to eat in a local restaurant (lunch is on your own).  We will depart and return to the Peterborough Community Center located at 25 Elm St.Who: Ages 50 and upWhen: Thursday, March 6thDeparture Time: 8:30amReturn time: around 5:30pmFee: $54 Residents, $69 Non-Residents (fee includes transportation and general admission ticket)Participants must be able to walk 2 city blocks to participate on this trip. A minimum of 6 participants are needed to run this trip.

Theresa is an advanced student of Senior Instructor Janet Briggs of East Wind Tai Chi in the practice of Yang Style Long form,  Dong family Simplified, Advanced, Fast, and Sword forms and Kai-He/Hao form. In 1987, Instructor Theresa received a BA from College of Atlantic in Human Ecology, the study of the connections between humans and their natural and physical environments. From 2001-2010, she was a regional champion and a national contender with USA Powerlifting, a drug-free strength sport federation. With life-long interests in human ecology and physical fitness, Theresa says: "In 2014, I was fortunate to begin studying Qigong and Tai Chi with Master James Rath of the Taoist Arts Center in Nashua. Volleyball is back!  Join other adults that enjoy volleyball in the SMS gym on Wednesday nights for fun recreational play. Registration online is much preferred, though we will take drop-ins via cash or check only. NO VENMO. Checks need to be made payable to Town of Peterborough. Technical questions about the program can be sent to mtduston@gmail.com. Where: South Meadow School Gym, 108 Hancock RoadWhen: Wednesday nightsTime: 7:30-9:30pmAges: 18+Cost: $5 per visit with monthly packages availableExpectations:- Bring comfortable clothes and a water bottle- Beginners can be taught how to playRefund Policy:Participants must cancel 7 days prior to the start of the program to be eligible for a refund.  After that, refunds are not issued unless a program is cancelled, or the participant has an unforeseen medical situation. There is a 30% refund fee for all refunds canceled by the participant.  Fees cannot be prorated and we are unable to refund credit card convenience fees. Please check each program for program specific refund policies.

Join the Peterborough Recreation Department Senior Program for a culinary adventure on our "New" Diner Tours, while enjoying a scenic ride along the way. Trips will usually take place on the third Thursday of each month. January 9th will be the first trip date.Who: Ages 50 plusWhen:     January 9th- MaryAnn's Diner in Amherst     February 20th- Tilton Diner in Tilton     March 20th- Red Arrow Diner in ConcordTimes: (Rough Time-10:00 - 3:00, though times may vary per trip)Fee: Residents-$10     Non-Residents-$15 Fee includes transportation only. Please note...You must be able to walk at least two city blocks to attend.Registration is required prior to trip. Tai Chi and Qigong are here! About This Program This class covers qigong/tai chi fundamentals of breath work, movement, posture alignment, and visualization. Consistently practicing these gentle, meditative movements improves balance, coordination, flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. Safe and sustainable for everyone, all movements can be modified and effectively compliment other wellness pursuits.Who is Theresa?Theresa Rogers is a Zen Wellness certified Qigong instructor and currently trains with Alex Dong's International Taijiquan Association of Tai Chi. Theresa is an advanced student of Senior Instructor Janet Briggs of East Wind Tai Chi in the practice of Yang Style Long form,  Dong family Simplified, Advanced, Fast, and Sword forms and Kai-He/Hao form. In 1987, Instructor Theresa received a BA from College of Atlantic in Human Ecology, the study of the connections between humans and their natural and physical environments. From 2001-2010, she was a regional champion and a national contender with USA Powerlifting, a drug-free strength sport federation. With life-long interests in human ecology and physical fitness, Theresa says: "In 2014, I was fortunate to begin studying Qigong and Tai Chi with Master James Rath of the Taoist Arts Center in Nashua. The profound physical and mental benefits I experienced fostered centeredness in all areas of my life." After achieving instructor certifications, Theresa taught the restorative Qigong curriculum at the Toaist Arts Center until its closing. In 2018 Theresa founded 7 Stars Qigong.
