Our goal is to develop players in a fun, moderately-competitive program where there are no try-outs or cuts. Youth basketball will be offered for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st-9th grade. Yes, you heard that right...we are now offering 7-9th grade teams! Pre-K and Kindergarten will be our Lil' Dribblers program and will run in two four-week sessions with a bad weather makeup session. 1st-9th grade will be broken into teams. The regular season will be approximately 10 weeks. Boys and girls will be separated for 3rd-9th grade if there are enough to do so. We will accept kids that make their school team onto our teams.FormatGrades 1 & 2 will have their own teams for the first time this year, which is a change from previous years. They will have one team practice per week and then a game on Saturdays. This will be an internal program with no travel. For 3rd-9th, we will follow a similar format to the 24-25 season for 3rd-9th with a minor tweak from previous years. Starting in November, all 3rd-9th grade teams will begin practicing with their permanent teams. Games will begin the first Saturday in December and go through mid-February. We will end with the jamboree. HELP NEEDED!It takes a village to run a good program. We will need help! Head coaches, assistant coaches, scoreboard keepers, book keepers, and referees. Referees will be paid $50 per game. One child of each head coach per team will be free. All coaches must have satisfactory local, state, and federal background checks completed by the Town. We do not accept background checks from employers, other organizations, etc. If you are interested in helping with the program, please fill out this form to express interest. Logistics:Where: Peterborough Community Center & Peterborough ElementaryWhen: Session I Lil' Dribblers: 12/6, 12/13, 12/20, 1/3, 1/10* *snow makeupSession II Lil' Dribblers: 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14* *snow makeupGrades 1 & 2: January 5-February 14Grades 3-9: November 10-February 14Days & Times: Lil' Dribblers: Saturday mornings, 8:30-9:30Grades 1 & 2: 1 weeknight practice & game on SaturdaysGrades 3 & 4: 2 weeknight practices & game on SaturdaysGrades 5 & 6: 2 weeknight practices & game on SaturdaysGrades 7-9: 2 weeknight practices & game on SaturdaysAges: Pre-K (age 3) through 9th grade Cost for Little Dribblers: $50/session/resident, $60/session/non-residentCost for 1st/2nd Grade: $70/session/resident, $80/non-residentCost for 3rd/4th Grade: $80 for seasonCost for 5th/6th Grade: $90 for season Cost for 7th-9th Grade: $100 for seasonExpectations:- Balls will be provided - Mouth guards are optional- Players will need comfortable clothes and a water bottle- a T-shirt or jersey is included in the registration fee- Lil' Dribblers will receive medals at the end of the season
