Tai Chi and Qigong are here! About This Program This class covers qigong/tai chi fundamentals of breath work, movement, posture alignment, and visualization. Consistently practicing these gentle, meditative movements improves balance, coordination, flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. Safe and sustainable for everyone, all movements can be modified and effectively compliment other wellness pursuits.Who is Theresa?Theresa Rogers is a Zen Wellness certified Qigong instructor and currently trains with Alex Dong's International Taijiquan Association of Tai Chi. Theresa is an advanced student of Senior Instructor Janet Briggs of East Wind Tai Chi in the practice of Yang Style Long form,  Dong family Simplified, Advanced, Fast, and Sword forms and Kai-He/Hao form. In 1987, Instructor Theresa received a BA from College of Atlantic in Human Ecology, the study of the connections between humans and their natural and physical environments. From 2001-2010, she was a regional champion and a national contender with USA Powerlifting, a drug-free strength sport federation. With life-long interests in human ecology and physical fitness, Theresa says: "In 2014, I was fortunate to begin studying Qigong and Tai Chi with Master James Rath of the Taoist Arts Center in Nashua. The profound physical and mental benefits I experienced fostered centeredness in all areas of my life." After achieving instructor certifications, Theresa taught the restorative Qigong curriculum at the Toaist Arts Center until its closing. In 2018 Theresa founded 7 Stars Qigong. This summer's theme is "Mess Fest - Dance Edition" and spots are limited!  Join NHDI (New Hampshire Dance Institute) and Peterborough Recreation Department for a week of empowering dance and movement in "Mess Fest - Dance Edition."  No one ever said Croquembouche was easy to make! And no one knows that better than Messy Bessie. Come dance with NHDI and make a creative mess, as Bessie discovers that building her masterpiece is messy and complex, with a lot of bumps along the way. The road to success is never a straight line. Led by New Hampshire Dance Institute's (NHDI's) Associate Artistic Director, Linda Estabrook, and hosted by Peterborough Recreation Department, NHDI's Summer Dance Camp develops children’s' enthusiasm for movement and broadens their dance experiences with accessible "follow me" instruction accompanied by games & challenges to activate body and brain. No prior dance experience is necessary, just put on your sneakers and join in the fun! Dancers will present a free performance on Friday, July 25th @ 12:00.Where: Peterborough Community Center, 25 Elm StreetWhen: July 6th-July 10thTimes: 9:15am-12:30pmAges: Rising 2nd-9th grade childrenCost: $118/residents $125/non-residentsWe need 25 kids to run this program or it will be cancelled! - PROGRAM MUST BE PAID FOR IN FULL AT THE START OF THE PROGRAM. Logistics:- Children in the Playground Program may attend this camp and will be transported from Adams Park to the Community Center.
