Trip - Bridge Of Flowers - Trip- Bridge of Flowers Join us for a relaxing summer day in the charming village of Shelburne Falls, MA, home to the beautiful Bridge of Flowers. Once a trolley bridge, this unique landmark has been transformed into a colorful garden spanning the Deerfield River, offering stunning seasonal blooms, scenic river views, and an enjoyable stroll for visitors of all ages. The Bridge of Flowers is open and continues to showcase newly replanted gardens following its extensive restoration. Our new mini bus will depart at 9:00 AM for the approximately 90-minute drive to Shelburne Falls. Upon arrival, you'll have time to explore the Bridge of Flowers, browse the village's unique shops and galleries, or simply relax and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.For Lunch, we will gather at Baked, a popular local café and bakery known for its scratch-made breakfast and lunch favorites, fresh-baked breads, pastries, and specialty coffee drinks. Lunch is on your own. Following lunch, there will be additional free time to explore the village before departing for home. Safe and sustainable for everyone, all movements can be modified and effectively compliment other wellness pursuits.Who is Theresa?Theresa Rogers is a Zen Wellness certified Qigong instructor and currently trains with Alex Dong's International Taijiquan Association of Tai Chi. Theresa is an advanced student of Senior Instructor Janet Briggs of East Wind Tai Chi in the practice of Yang Style Long form, Dong family Simplified, Advanced, Fast, and Sword forms and Kai-He/Hao form. In 1987, Instructor Theresa received a BA from College of Atlantic in Human Ecology, the study of the connections between humans and their natural and physical environments. From 2001-2010, she was a regional champion and a national contender with USA Powerlifting, a drug-free strength sport federation. With life-long interests in human ecology and physical fitness, Theresa says: "In 2014, I was fortunate to begin studying Qigong and Tai Chi with Master James Rath of the Taoist Arts Center in Nashua. The profound physical and mental benefits I experienced fostered centeredness in all areas of my life." Program DescriptionThis is a developmental program for kids who are just learning the game of soccer and/or want to learn and play in a fun, moderately-competitive environment. There are no try-outs and no cuts. The season runs from right after Labor Day Weekend to late October. We are putting the teams together in the 2 weeks before the program begins, so please register your child prior to August 23rd to guarantee your child's spot.U6 and U8 will stay in-house and play each other for games. After School PE - Mission Move! - Mission Move! After School PE - September 17 Do you have an elementary school student that could use some movement in their day?Program DescriptionJoin us for Mission Move, an after-school play-based fitness club where your child will learn that movement can be fun! This inclusive, non-competitive program's goal is to encourage life-long healthy habits through games, team-building, and low-pressure activities. Transportation from Peterborough Elementary School to the Peterborough Recreation Department as well as a healthy snack will be provided. This program is run and staffed in collaboration with Monadnock Community Hospital and Franklin Pierce University.Sign your child up for one session, or for a month of sessions! Also, please note that this program is not just for PES students. If you can provide transportation, we will take participants from all schools/towns. Program Instructors Mission Move is created by Kate Pellegrino, PT, DPT and Liz Warner, PTA of the Monadnock Community Hospital Physical Therapy Department. Kate and Liz have carefully constructed a program to integrate youth fitness with team building and confidence skills for kids to grow far beyond the gym. Students from Franklin Pierce University’s Education and Health Sciences departments are collaborating as part of their curriculum, and will be responsible for running the program onsite with supervision of their instructor Dr. Lindsay Vago.
