Tai Chi and Qigong are here! About This Program This class covers qigong/tai chi fundamentals of breath work, movement, posture alignment, and visualization. Consistently practicing these gentle, meditative movements improves balance, coordination, flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. Safe and sustainable for everyone, all movements can be modified and effectively compliment other wellness pursuits.Who is Theresa?Theresa Rogers is a Zen Wellness certified Qigong instructor and currently trains with Alex Dong's International Taijiquan Association of Tai Chi. Theresa is an advanced student of Senior Instructor Janet Briggs of East Wind Tai Chi in the practice of Yang Style Long form,  Dong family Simplified, Advanced, Fast, and Sword forms and Kai-He/Hao form. In 1987, Instructor Theresa received a BA from College of Atlantic in Human Ecology, the study of the connections between humans and their natural and physical environments. From 2001-2010, she was a regional champion and a national contender with USA Powerlifting, a drug-free strength sport federation. With life-long interests in human ecology and physical fitness, Theresa says: "In 2014, I was fortunate to begin studying Qigong and Tai Chi with Master James Rath of the Taoist Arts Center in Nashua. The profound physical and mental benefits I experienced fostered centeredness in all areas of my life." After achieving instructor certifications, Theresa taught the restorative Qigong curriculum at the Toaist Arts Center until its closing. In 2018 Theresa founded 7 Stars Qigong. We are putting the teams together in the 2 weeks before the program begins, so please register your child prior to August 23rd to guarantee your child's spot.U6 and U8 will stay in-house and play each other for games. U10 and U12 will play games at home and locally against the rec teams from Wilton, New Ipswich, and possibly Antrim, Rindge and Milford.CoachingThis program requires a significant number of volunteers to run and we are looking for head and assistant coaches. This low-impact workout program combines a variety of exercises using body weight, light dumbbells, pilates balls, and resistance bands to help you build strength, improve mobility, and enhance stability—all in a safe and supportive environment. Each session includes both seated and standing exercises, with the chair available for support as needed. We'll focus on movements that help improve balance, coordination, and flexibility, while also promoting joint health and overall well-being. Light stretching will be incorporated to keep muscles relaxed and improve range of motion. Whether you're new to exercise or looking to stay active as you age, this class is a great way to move your body, stay strong, and feel energized. All fitness levels welcome! Do you have an elementary school student that could use some movement in their day?Program DescriptionJoin us for Mission Move, an after-school play-based fitness club where your child will learn that movement can be fun! This inclusive, non-competitive program's goal is to encourage life-long healthy habits through games, team-building, and low-pressure activities. Transportation from Peterborough Elementary School to the Peterborough Recreation Department as well as a healthy snack will be provided. This program is run and staffed in collaboration with Monadnock Community Hospital and Franklin Pierce University.Sign your child up for one session, or for a month of sessions! Also, please note that this program is not just for PES students. If you can provide transportation, we will take participants from all schools/towns. Program Instructors Mission Move is created by Kate Pellegrino, PT, DPT and Liz Warner, PTA of the Monadnock Community Hospital Physical Therapy Department. Kate and Liz have carefully constructed a program to integrate youth fitness with team building and confidence skills for kids to grow far beyond the gym. Students from Franklin Pierce University’s Education and Health Sciences departments are collaborating as part of their curriculum, and will be responsible for running the program onsite with supervision of their instructor Dr. Lindsay Vago. There are no try-outs and no cuts. The season runs from right after Labor Day Weekend to late October. We are putting the teams together in the 2 weeks before the program begins, so please register your child prior to August 23rd to guarantee your child's spot.U6 and U8 will stay in-house and play each other for games. U10 and U12 will play games at home and locally against the rec teams from Wilton, New Ipswich, and possibly Antrim, Rindge and Milford.CoachingThis program requires a significant number of volunteers to run and we are looking for head and assistant coaches. Please remember, the more volunteers we have, the smaller the teams can be, and the more playing time your child(ren) have. If you would like to coach, please complete the formhere. The registration fee for the child of the head coach is waived. Town of Peterborough background checks must be completed prior to coaching, and no other background checks will be accepted. RefereesWe will be using referees for U10 and U12. We are paying $35/referee/game. Do you have an elementary school student that could use some movement in their day?Program DescriptionJoin us for Mission Move, an after-school play-based fitness club where your child will learn that movement can be fun! This inclusive, non-competitive program's goal is to encourage life-long healthy habits through games, team-building, and low-pressure activities. Transportation from Peterborough Elementary School to the Peterborough Recreation Department as well as a healthy snack will be provided. This program is run and staffed in collaboration with Monadnock Community Hospital and Franklin Pierce University.Sign your child up for one session, or for a month of sessions! Also, please note that this program is not just for PES students. If you can provide transportation, we will take participants from all schools/towns. Program Instructors Mission Move is created by Kate Pellegrino, PT, DPT and Liz Warner, PTA of the Monadnock Community Hospital Physical Therapy Department. Kate and Liz have carefully constructed a program to integrate youth fitness with team building and confidence skills for kids to grow far beyond the gym. Students from Franklin Pierce University’s Education and Health Sciences departments are collaborating as part of their curriculum, and will be responsible for running the program onsite with supervision of their instructor Dr. Lindsay Vago.
