Program Overview
This year we plan to run basketball similarly to the 25-26 season. We will be part of Souhegan Valley Youth Basketball League once again (Wilton-Lyndeborough, New Ipswich, and Rindge will be our primary opponents). Our goal is to develop players in a fun, moderately-competitive program where there are no try-outs or cuts.
Youth basketball will be offered for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st-9th grade. Pre-K and Kindergarten will be our Lil' Dribblers program and will run in two four-week sessions with a bad weather makeup session. The 1st-9th grade will have teams. The regular season will be approximately 10 weeks. Boys and girls will be separated for 3rd-9th grade if there are enough to do so. We will accept kids that make their school team onto our teams, but registration deadlines still apply. If you miss a registration deadline for any reason, please sign up for the waiting list.
**Attention 5th and 6th Grade Families: We are looking into the possibility of offering a travel team as part of Manchester Suburban League. This team will have tryouts and will have its own fee. Please stay tuned to this page for more information.**
Policies and Procedures in Our Program:
- Practices will start as soon as possible, typically in the month of November. This is dependent on coach availability and readiness.
- The only group that is whole-group is Lil' Dribblers. All other age groups have multiple teams in each.
- We do accept team requests, but because we get so many we cannot guarantee that they will be honored. Our number one goal is to create balanced teams, and honoring all requests would make this nearly impossible. Requests must be submitted at the time of registration and are unlikely to be honored after registration deadlines have passed.
- We are committed to balancing the skills of the players on our teams as best that we can because this is a community recreation program.
- We do accept requests from coaches to to coach together, but this is not guaranteed due to our goal of creating balanced teams.
- We do not have divisions in our program within age groups. Our teams are built to be balanced and fair.
HELP NEEDED!
It takes a village to run a good program. We will need help! Head coaches, assistant coaches, scoreboard keepers, book keepers, and referees. Referees will be paid $50 per game. One child of each head coach per team will be free. All coaches must have satisfactory local, state, and federal background checks completed by the Town. We do not accept background checks from employers, other organizations, etc. If you are interested in helping with the program, please fill out this form to express interest.

Cost for Little Dribblers: $55/session/resident, $65/session/non-resident
Cost for 1st/2nd Grade: $75/session/resident, $85/non-resident
Cost for 3rd-6th Grade: $95 for season
Cost for 7th-9th Grade: $105 for season
Additional Information:
- Balls will be provided
- Mouth guards are optional
- All players need to change into a clean, dry pair of sneakers once indoors to prevent the floor from getting slippery
- Players will need comfortable clothes and a water bottle
- a T-shirt or jersey is included in the registration fee
- Lil' Dribblers will receive medals at the end of the season
- 3rd-9th grade games cancelled due to weather will not be made up
